The project proposals relating to setting up of intranet and centralized data center (ICARNet), development of e-courses for B.Sc. (Agri.) and B.VSc., learning and capacity building, policy & gender analysis and visioning, digitization of ICAR journals/periodicals/books etc. under Component 1 are being discussed in expert committee meetings. These proposals will be discussed in the first OMPC meeting scheduled on October 17, 2006 at PIU, NAIP. In the OMPC meeting, the O&M advisory group will be identified and constituted. It is also proposed to form an e-journal consortium in order to provide e-journals to ICAR institutes and SAUs to begin with.

The first meeting of the RPC was held on October 10-11, 2006 and the agenda issues relating to finalization of the draft note on the call for the competitive project proposals under NAIP, finalization of a panel of Peer Experts for scrutiny of proposals, etc. under NAIP, constitution of technical advisory groups under the three research components of NAIP, revision of formats and scorecards of three research components, etc. were discussed and finalized.
