XI.  Project Launch........

         The project on “Visioning Policy analysis and Gender (V-PAGe)” under Component-1 of NAIP was launched on 26-27th June 2007 at NCAP, New Delhi. The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. S.S. Acharya, Former Director, Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur and Dr. K.M. Bujarbaruah, DDG (AS), Dr. Paul Sidhu, The World Bank and Dr Mruthyunjaya ND, NAIP also spoke on the occasion. The workshop was attended by all the partners besides eminent resource persons like Dr. R.S. Deshpande, ISEC, Bangalore, Dr. S.M. Illyas, NAARM, Hyderabad, Dr. J.P. Mishra, ICAR,Dr. D.K. Marothia, KIIT, Bhubaneshwar, Dr. P.Das, ICAR, Dr. S.P. Tiwari, ICAR, Dr. K. Palanisamy, TNAU, Dr. S.D. Sharma, IASRI and Dr. P. Kumar, IARI. The workshop deliberated on the detailed work plan for the implementation of the project.<downloads>

   

XII. Exploring ideas for training in Frontier Agricultural Sciences Areas under NAIP.

        NAIP is in the process of developing a training plan under component-4 of NAIP. Information on critical training areas under frontier Agricultural Sciences may kindly be provided  for consideration in the following format by 8th July, 2007 in the email address of  ntyaduraju@icar.org.in

XIII. Task Force of Webmasters of ICAR

       NAIP has constituted a Task Force of Webmasters of ICAR to review the status of websites of ICAR Institutes and to suggest guidelines and policy issues required for bringing uniformity and making websites more effective and useful. The first meeting was held on 29 June, 2007 at NAIP, New Delhi. Representatives from IARI, New Delhi, NAARM, Hyderabad, NBPGR, New Delhi, NCIPM,, New Delhi, CRIDA, Hyderabad, IIHR, Bangalore and CIBA, Chennai participated in the meeting

XVII. New name for e-journal Consortium
          The e-Journal Consortium Negotiations Committee in its meeting on February 15th, 2007, considered several names for the proposed ICAR Consortium for e-Knowledge Resources, received from the prospective users of the resources. The committee has adopted the name: Consortium for e-Resources for Agriculture with the acronym CeRA.

XIX.NAIP Help Desk eager to assist and guide especially for developing Full Proposals

            The Help Desk is now in full operation at the NAARM .Please avail thoroughly of the assistance and guidance of the Help Desk in preparing the full proposal for your project if your concept note has been cleared by the RPC. Help Desk is planning to organize the first joint workshop at NAARM, Hyderabad most likely, between the end of April and early May 2007, for guiding this process of preparation of full proposals

 
XX.IFAD Grant Facility to NAIP (ICAR)

          The inception – cum-planning meeting of the IFAD facility grant for NAIP was held on 2 nd April 2007 at New Delhi. It was attended by senior officials of ICAR, World Bank, IFAD, IRRI, representatives of CG Centers, Indian NARS etc. The Meeting discussed the main features of the NAIP with particular reference to research on sustainable rural livelihood security (Component-3),  few potential concept notes, the need of the participation of CG centers and what CG Centers can offer and the governance issues of the facility.

      

XXI.Further guidelines for holding interaction workshops.

           In order to make the stakeholders" workshop more meaningful, it was decided to have workshops for 3 days.  The first day will be for presentation, discussion and finalization of technical programme  followed by discussion and finalization of the budget. On day two, the CL/CPI will present the proposal in the presence of stakeholders as well as partners.  The entire day will be for discussing and finalization of the proposal.  The last day will be for fine tuning of the proposal taking inputs from concerned NC and Help Desk representative.
